In the complex and dynamic energy market, it is crucial that PZEM is able to respond quickly to changes and opportunities. Virtually all of these changes and opportunities have an IT impact. The Lead IT Business Analyst leads a team of five IT business analysts responsible for collecting, understanding and assessing business requirements that require an IT solution. With these aligned and prioritized business requirements, this team searches for the right application and vendor to convert the business requirement into a solution. PZEM does not have application management in-house, so there is always interaction with teams from external suppliers and developers from external suppliers. Monitoring requested and delivered quality of the services provided by the external parties is part of the task package.

Job description

The Lead IT Business Analyst Analysis's main goal is to, taking into account all aspects of the business (including strategy, policy, structure and environment) and its stakeholders, understand the (change) needs of the business, identify impacts on the business and its processes, and translate these needs into state-of-the-art IT solutions that enable the business to achieve its goals.

The Lead IT Business Analyst Analysis must show ownership (for their own performance as well as for the team's employees) and facilitate the team in their work by coaching, balancing the workload and focusing on the added value the team provides to internal customers at manageable costs.

Core tasks?

  • Leading the team of IT Business Analysts.

  • Facilitating knowledge sharing and encouraging innovation within the team and across the organization.

  • Coaching the Business Analysts in their development and bringing/maintaining the required knowledge and competencies within the team.

  • Prioritizing, dosing and distributing the work package for the team.

  • Maintaining relationships with stakeholders at all levels for which good communication skills are crucial.

  • Facilitate collaboration between business and IT in the form of standardized working methods and methodologies, such as Agile.

  • Ensuring with the team the support of internal customers' business processes using IT solutions that support PZEM's business strategy.

  • Be a sparring partner for business owners by proactively putting new innovative technology opportunities on the agenda.

  • When appropriate, the Teamlead also performs activities as a Business Analyst himself.

  • Provide input to the IT strategy and seek solutions in line with the IT strategy.

  • Provide advice to the Manager IT.

  • Report progress, bottlenecks and risks to the Manager IT and business relations.

  • Provide input from the team to the IT budget and financial planning with a focus on potential investments and cost control.

Education level

  • Completed college or university education in the direction of IT/(Technical) Business Administration supplemented with knowledge of process design, IT and management, Business & IT.

Knowledge, experience and skills

  • Has experience as Teamlead within a similar function or gained from a consultancy role or experience as a senior business analyst and the ambition to develop into a teamlead role.

  • Has experience with (IT) projects from a teamlead role or project role.

  • IT knowledge and experience in Energy (trading) business is a plus.

  • Has knowledge of business processes and knows how to penetrate unknown areas quickly and analytically.

  • Works from genuine, natural interest in building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Is equipped with a large dose of curiosity and a proactive attitude.

  • Keeps abreast of innovative developments in IT and the energy sector.

  • Has excellent analytical and communication skills (Dutch and English, written and oral) and can apply these at different levels.
